Colin Mochrie, the 63-year-old comedian from Who's Line Is It Anyway found himself in a bizarre situation involving a fan, and was forced to defend himself with a VHS tape.
Celebrities are confronted by fans all the time, and some of their interactions are as unwelcome as they are frightening. This was definitely the case for Colin Mochrie on Monday. His walk through Beverly Hills, California was supposed to be a quiet one, when Mochrie stumbled across a fan wanting an autograph. He was presented with a VHS tape to sign.
This seemingly routine exchange quickly got way out of hand when the fan attempted to reach for Mochrie's head, during which time, the comedian used the VHS tape as a form of defense.
The Autograph Signing Gone Wrong
Colin Mochrie has been entertaining fans with comedy for decades, and he's well versed when it comes to fan interaction. However, in spite of having been asked for his autograph hundreds of times before, the most recent request for his famous signature was far from an ordinary experience.
During a stroll through the streets of Beverly Hills, an eager fan approached Mochrie and handed him a VHS tape. As other pedestrians captured on camera, it then appeared that the fan requested Mochrie's signature on the tape.
The comedian seemed happy to oblige, but just as he began to attempt his signature, the fan abruptly raised his arms in a quick movement towards Colin Mochrie's head.
Wasting no time at all, and proving his sharp sense of awareness and agile moves, Mochrie raised his hands in defense, and a struggle ensued. Mochrie then used the VHS tape in his hands to whack at the fan, in an effort to get him away

That VHS Tape Came In Handy
It's not entirely clear what led to the physical interaction, or why this fan would even try to reach for Mochrie in such an aggressive manner, but clearly, things were very tense and dangerous for a few moments during their struggle.
Thankfully, the fan had approached Mochrie with a VHS tape to be autographed and not a piece of paper, as the paper wouldn't have been quite as effective as a defensive tool! Mochrie got a few good whacks in during their battle, and was seen hitting the fan over the head and shoulders with the tape repeatedly, to get him away.
Colin Mochrie has not yet provided the media with a comment regarding this incident, and it seems the troubled fan had his camera rolling during the physical struggle that ensued... fans are wondering what he plans on doing with that footage, and whether he is planning on using it against Mochrie in some way.
The end of the recording shows Mochrie leaving the area with the VHS tape. It now holds sentimental value.
