There are many actors that people love to hate (or hate to love), but none compare to the iconic SNL alumni, Adam Sandler. He has a reputation for having films that do not always hit the target with the critics, but many of these movies still make money at the box office. He managed to turn his career around recently with his newest film, Uncut Gems, where he showed off some impressive acting range. Critics were impressed.

So, he's made 'hit or miss' films, and Adam has also collaborated with a lot of actors that he happens to be close to. However, there are some celebrities that have surprisingly never worked with him, whether by chance or due to some type of conflict.

Here are 7 celebs Adam Sandler never works with and 8 he always does work with.

15 Never Works With: Tom Cruise

Tom working with Adam would be a sight to behold. Given that Tom's ex-wife, Katie Holmes, worked with Adam on the disastrous Jack and Jill, they do have a good friendship going on. While it's hard to say if these two will work together, anything is possible.

14 Always Does: Steve Buscemi

Out of all the actors Adam's worked with, Steve is one that he's worked with again and again. These two have been in a lot of movies together. They first worked together while filming the 1994 film, Airheads, and began filming more projects together later on.

Their recent film, Hubie Halloween, will be released on Netflix sometime in 2020.

13 Never Works With: Sacha Baron Cohen

Adam is friends with Sacha but somehow has not worked with him professionally. Sacha has a lot in common with Adam...more than you probably think! Both are Jewish comedic actors. What is rather ironic is that Sacha was originally reported to have won the starring role in Uncut Gems, before Adam signed on as the main lead.

12 Always Does: Dan Aykroyd

Dan has become a legendary actor and creator - he brought the Ghostbusters franchise to life. Dan and Adam both appeared on Saturday Night Live and they were co-stars in films. They both starred in I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry and 50 First Dates.

He even made a cameo in Adam's video game-inspired film, Pixels.

11 Never Works With: Lisa Kudrow

Adam has worked with two-thirds of the main female cast of Friends. We mean Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox. Amazingly, he has not worked with Lisa yet, as of March 2020. Perhaps Adam will be able to work with all three main female leads, but plans for that are not confirmed at this point.

10 Always Does: Jennifer Aniston

Even if the movie Just Go with It was not met with positive reviews, Jennifer and Adam definitely had great chemistry throughout the film. That chemistry definitely carried over when they worked together again while filming 2019's Murder Mystery.

Given their fantastic professional relationship, we can see these two co-starring in another movie.

9 Never Works With: Mark Wahlberg

Probably. this is no coincidence! Adam took over Mark's role in Will Ferrell's football comedy, Three Mississippi. Will and Mark worked together on Daddy's Home and its sequel, but the football movie was the first time Adam worked with Will. Maybe some other time, Mark and Adam will work on a film together.

8 Always Does: Kevin James

Kevin and Adam go way back. They have worked together for such a long time that they are practically inseparable.

They both appeared in I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry and Grown Ups. They both did voice work for the Hotel Transylvania franchise. Kevin is also part of the cast of Hubie Halloween. Look for that film on Netflix soon, as previously mentioned.

7 Never Works With: Rose McGowan

Rose and Adam almost worked together, as they were set to work on a movie. But she took to Twitter about a casting call she considered offensive and got fired for expressing her opinion. Thankfully, she does not hold anything against Adam when it comes to what happened. However, due to the drama, there's a strong possibility that these two might not be able to star in a movie together anytime soon.

6 Always Does: Chris Rock

Chris also had his rise to stardom thanks to SNL. He would eventually get the chance to be in 2005's The Longest Yard alongside Adam.

Since they've both appeared in Grown Ups, Grown Ups 2, and The Week Of, these two clearly get along really well and enjoy playing off each other. Both are stellar comedic talents.

5 Never Works With: Brad Pitt

The thought of Adam and Brad working together probably sounds asinine, but if their surprisingly wholesome friendship does not pull you into thinking that's possible, we don't know what to say to you. They both arrived in the Hollywood scene in the 80s and how they talked about becoming actors is an engaging read (or listen).

4 Always Does: Drew Barrymore

Drew is basically Adam's most iconic love interest in the comedies they starred in together. They made moviegoers go "aww" (and hope and pray for them) in 50 First Dates, which is one of Adam's best films to date.

They even reunited in 2014, for the film, Blended. Drew has even mentioned that she would love to make more movies with him!

3 Never Works With: Seth MacFarlane

Adam and Seth have a lot in common, such as working with Drew on separate occasions. Seth voiced the character, Adam Sandler, in an episode on Family Guy, and has even been called the new Adam Sandler after the release of his film, A Million Ways to Die in the West. Will the two work together? Probably not.

2 Always Does: David Spade

Similar to a lot of the actors that have worked with Adam, David is SNL alumni. Plus, they both have strong ties to the late and great comedian, Chris Farley.

Even after moving on from SNL, these two continued to work together in films, such as The Do-Over from 2016.

1 Always Does: Rob Schneider

Whether it is a good or bad thing, if there is a movie with Adam and Rob attached to it, it is bound to be poorly-received. However, awful reviews don't detract from their unbreakable friendship. Sometimes, a movie can be made just for fun, without being so deep and intellectual.
