In the decade or so that smartphones have been around, they’ve seamlessly integrated into our everyday lives. We do everything on them, from going shopping and ordering groceries and takeout to talking via Kimoji and taking an ungodly amount of snaps in pursuit of that perfect Instagram shot. So it was only a matter of time before smartphones worked their way into a much more intimate part of our lives—by telling us when we’re expecting.
A first-of-its-kind Bluetooth-enabled digital pregnancy test is looking to make that nerve-wracking three minutes between the time you pee on a stick and the time you find out if your life is going to change that much less stressful. The First Response Pregnancy Pro Stick, which was announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, syncs with an app and shows all of your test results in one place.

True, it basically does what any other pregnancy test will do, though the app (available on iOS and Android) comes with a few helpful instructions that a traditional test doesn’t. Namely, instructions on how to pee on the stick, how to “connect” it to the app via Bluetooth, and next steps you can take if the test happens to be positive, or what to do if you didn’t get the result you wanted.
Per the press release, the app tracks all of the dates that you’ve taken the test in case you’re trying to get pregnant, and—perhaps most helpful of all—plays calming visual content during those anxious three minutes.
The app is available to download for iOS and Android now. Expect to see the tests in drugstores later this year.
