Britney Spears has deleted her Instagram account again. Though the pop star has done this before, her decision to remove her account comes after an emotional post discussing what her family put her through in her conservatorship.
Recently, a court determined Britney must pay $2 million toward her father Jamie Spears’ legal fees after settling their years-long court battle over her conservatorship, which she was freed from in 2022. The emotionally charged IG post included a message from Britney saying there’s “no justice,” and implying she’s not necessarily done.
My family hurt me!!! There has been no justice and probably never will be!!!" Spears write. "The people who sat and did absolutely nothing when they did that for four months are smooth sailing!!!"
Why Britney Must Pay Her Dad $2 Million
Britney included a photo of herself in a black lace thong, with her back facing the camera.
"I was actually right about nerve damage in my back!!!" she added at the start of the caption. "I have to get [acupuncture] every day of my life now!!! Words and thinking too hard make it worse!!! If people only knew how I've had to crawl to my own door one time!!!"
Britney’s post was met with a lot of sympathetic comments, with her followers saying the verdict was unfair. But Britney quickly deleted her entire account shortly after making the reaction post and it hasn’t been reinstated since.
Jamie Spears originally wanted over $2 million to cover legal fees amassed over the 13-year conservatorship period, alongside current legal expenses. Spears was ultimately encouraged to settle, and it apparently “furious” with her lawyer, Matthew Rosengart, who previously was optimistic about her chances.
“Her legal team decided the focus should be on protecting her from reliving the traumas of her conservatorship," a source told The U.S. Sun.
Britney Is Still Embroiled In A Legal Battle With Her Ex
Britney has previously said she believes those responsible for her conservatorship, even her family, deserve jail time. So, there’s potential Britney will consider her other legal options to recoup her financial losses. But for now, the singer hasn’t confirmed whether she’s going to continue fighting her dad, or if it’s even an option.
Britney’s legal battle with her dad may be over, for now, but she’s continuing to navigate her divorce from Sam Asghari. He filed for divorce in August after only 14 months of marriage.
Though reports say their prenup entitles Sam to little given the short period they were married for, it’s also been alleged he’s hoping for a more generous settlement.
Though Britney is reportedly dating her ex-employee – whose criminal history worried fans when their romance was first exposed last year – sources say Britney is regretful about the breakdown of their marriage. While she may want a reconciliation, it doesn’t seem like Asghari is open to it.
