The world was in shock when actor Patrick Swayze passed away. Best known for his role in Dirty Dancing and that iconic line "nobody puts baby in the corner" fans and co-stars alike grieved heavily after the much-loved actor who died of pancreatic cancer on September 14th, 2009. The actor was just 57 years old and still had plenty of roles lined up for his future.
Hundreds mourned Patrick Swayze at the memorial in LA. Guests were greeted by the white horse that Patrick owned and loved. There were video tributes to the star, and many photos of Patrick Swayze riding horses.
His incredible dancing talent was also honored at the funeral that his wife Lisa Niemi had planned. There were professional dancers and a source told People that “A whole dance floor was built. The dancers did these amazing numbers."
Who Attended Patrick Swayze's Funeral?
Friends and family attended Patrick's funeral, the service was described as beautiful by many.
Several co-stars of Swayze paid tributes after his passing. Whoopi Goldberg was among the stars who attended Patrick's funeral.
The first time Whoopi met Patrick, he flew over to Alabama with Ghost's director Jerry Zucker to read lines and the two instantly formed a connection.
“He and I just took to each other,” Whoopi said. It seems Patrick has a very special place in Whoopi's heart.

"Patrick was a really good man, a funny man and one to whom I owe much that I can't ever repay. I believe in 'Ghost's' message, so he'll always be near," Whoopi said.
Swayze's other co-star Demi Moore also had something to say too: "Patrick you are loved by so many and your light will forever shine in all of our lives. In the words of Sam to Molly. 'It's amazing Molly. The love inside, you take it with you. I will miss you.'"
But what about Jennifer Grey, his Dirty Dancing co-star?
How Did Jennifer Grey React To Patrick Swayze's Death?
It seems that Jennifer Grey did not attend the funeral of Patrick Swayze, but she did make a heartfelt tribute to her Dirty Dancing co-star via her manager.
It's known that the chemistry between Jennifer and Patrick during Dirty Dancing didn't quite reach outside the set, as Patrick would allegedly get impatient with Jennifer who, unlike him, was not a professional dancer, and it would therefore take her longer to learn the moves required for each scene of the movie.
Apparently, the co-stars' dislike for each other actually began three years before the movie.

It was during preparation for the movie Red Dawn that their rift began. Patrick would not break character, which meant that he was bossing Jennifer Grey and some other co-stars around off-set. He was the leader of a group in the movie so during the eight-week military training program that the co-stars had to go on in order to prepare for their roles in Red Dawn, Jennifer found Patrick so unbearable that after a while, it was difficult for her to be around him.
Understandably, it must have been a tense moment when the two had to reunite and act together again for Dirty Dancing.
But despite their past differences, they both gave incredible performances in a movie that is still considered a classic today, and Jennifer paid a heartwarming tribute to the actor after his death.
Jennifer gave a tribute via her manager: "When I think of him, I think of being in his arms when we were kids, dancing, practicing the lift in the freezing lake, having a blast doing this tiny little movie we thought no one would ever see. He was fearless and insisted on always doing his own stunts, so it was not surprising to me that the war he waged on his cancer was so courageous and dignified."
Jennifer added: “Patrick was a rare and beautiful combination of raw masculinity and amazing grace. Gorgeous and strong, he was a real cowboy with a tender heart. My heart goes out to his wife and childhood sweetheart, Lisa Niemi, to his mom, Patsy, and to the rest of their family.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger was another fellow actor to say something after Patrick's passing.
"Patrick Swayze was a talented and passionate artist who struck a memorable chord with audiences throughout the world," Arnold said. "He played a wide range of characters both on stage and in movies and his celebrated performances made the hard work of acting look effortless -- which I know from experience is not easy. As a fan and as an actor, I admired Patrick and I know that he will be dearly missed. On behalf of all Californians, Maria and I send our deepest condolences to Patrick's family, friends and fans."
It's incredibly hard to believe that Patrick Swayze has now been gone for thirteen years. He will be forever missed by family, co-stars, friends and fans, remembered for his incredible talent, his strength and his courage.
