Diddy's interview with Ellen was highly entertaining to watch, as the rapper took a trip down memory lane, sounding proud and excited at the thought of appearing on the show a total of seventeen times. Ellen told him how much fun he was to interview, then asked, "What's your name?" to which Sean 'Diddy' Combs cleared up any name confusion and explained that his real name is Sean Love Combs, but his nickname, which was previously P. Diddy, is now "Diddy"."I'm Love!" Diddy yelled, as the Ellen audience clapped and cheered, but when the conversation turned to the love life of his daughters, things got super awkward!
Diddy also took shots during a segment called "shot down memory lane" where Diddy had to take a shot after every clip he watched. The clips were hilarious, showing various Diddy interviews with Ellen, including his very first appearance on the show back in 2006.

What Did Diddy Say About His Daughters On 'Ellen'?
Diddy spoke about his daughters, Jessie and D'Lila, who've achieved so much and have grown up to become two beautiful young teenagers. They are both named after their grandmothers and are close with their father.
"So, you have teenage daughters," said Ellen. "And I would think that anyone that they're dating would be scared to death to come to the house with Love as the father."
"I don't know what you're talking about," said Diddy seriously. "My daughters are only fifteen. I don't—"
"They're not dating?" Ellen asked. At this point, Diddy is looking stunned. "No, they're not," said Diddy. "They better not be dating right now."

The audience laughed at Diddy's reaction, but Ellen caused more panic in the rapper as she responded with, "They're fifteen. They've got to have boyfriends, or girlfriends, or something — that's an age you start like, being interested."
Poor Diddy, looking flabbergasted and like he had received the most terrible news from Ellen, said, "I didn't know that."
As the audience laughed, Ellen asked, "How old were you when you first started getting interested in..."
Diddy sighed, then said, "I was wild! I was different. I was from a whole other time!" "Yeah I know, I know," said Ellen, smirking, "that's what I'm saying."

Diddy continued, saying that he didn't think his twin daughters would start dating until they were seventeen. The audience laughs as Ellen, who is smiling, shakes her head sympathetically.
Diddy nervously asks the audience when teenage girls start dating. When someone says "14" Diddy leaves his seat and says, "Oh my God!"

The clip of Diddy talking about his daughters was posted on The Ellen Show's social media channels and received over 5,000 comments on Instagram.

"[Diddy's daughters] are growing up so fast," said another Instagrammer. "Diddy was definitely not ready for this conversation."
"Diddy is like I’m going home right now," said another fan, followed by laughing faces.
But despite lots of fans finding the interview light-hearted and hilarious, some Instagrammers were not impressed with Diddy's reaction to his two teenage daughters dating.
"[Diddy's] afraid their gonna meet someone like him!!" one Instagrammer said. Lots of fans agreed, which came as no surprise. After all, Diddy has a reputation and has been linked to several female celebrities, and has dated a lot of famous faces, from Jennifer Lopez to Lori Harvey.
"Why do people always ask about that when you say that you have teenagers? Like that’s not the only thing going on with teens." One unimpressed Instagrammer commented. "Kinda weird for teens to be in relationships. Like they can’t even take care of themselves let alone date…"
"I bet he wouldn't react the same way if it was his son..." one commenter said. "Different standards for his daughters than for himself. Sounds about right," noted yet another; "He wasn’t ready for this convo," another pointed out. "You can tell he tried to play it off but it shows."
Fans were divided when it came to Diddy's interview, with some being sympathetic, understanding Diddy's perspective as a father, whilst others criticized the double standards. Diddy's reaction goes to show - it's never easy to watch your children grow up, and maybe fans are right - he's definitely worried about his teenage daughters dating someone like him!
