Although Debby Ryan initially grew to fame alongside the Sprouse twins on Disney, it didn't take long for her to outgrow the role of Baily Pickett. Though she starred with the Sprouses on 'The Suite Life on Deck' between 2008 and 2011, it was really 2011's 'Jessie' that let her shine.

Debby was cast as Jessie, and that meant working with other young Disney stars like Cameron Boyce, Peyton List, Skai Jackson, and Karan Brar. The show was a hit, but Debby didn't stop there. In fact, she's had quite an interesting life post-Disney, although it can't truly be said that she's left the franchise behind.

Of course, she has moved on to very diverse projects these days. In fact, some of them came out of her work on Disney, like the numerous theme songs and soundtracks she recorded. Yep, just like her fellow Disneygoers Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, and of course, the divas who paved the way, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, Debby also sings.

In fact, she was in a band as of 2014, and her group's debut album came out that year. And before its release, Debby admitted to MTV that her biggest inspiration was Demi herself. But her musical muses weren't just pop stars; Ryan also listed a handful of various artists in different genres.

She suggested that her group's music was like a mashup of Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Tom Petty, Mumford & Sons, and others, but if those artists "had a baby in a carnival in the Old West."

But Ryan alsoDebby and her now-husband Josh Dun met years ago listed a not surprising musical inspiration in another interview: the group Twenty One Pilots. Though their relationship flew under the radar for a long time, they were married in 2020.

It was all very secretive when they actually tied the knot, but Ryan revealed that it was after a close friend's passing, and she thought, why wait. That close friend is probably Cameron Boyce, who she spent years working alongside on 'Jessie.'

And not only has Debby been in countless Disney shows and films, jumped head-first into music, and gotten married, but she's also broken into the psychological thriller genre in recent years. Obviously, the 27-year-old has grown up!

First came 'Insatiable,' in which Debby had a lead role. The "dark comedy-drama" was a bit of a twist after bubblegum-country Jessie, but Ryan handled the transition well. Next up was 'Horse Girl,' a psychological drama, with another drama-thriller to follow soon ('Night Teeth').

Nestled in between those two projects, however, was a comedy piece. So it's nice to see that Debby's changing things up as her career continues to morph. So really, who knows what'll come next?
