The Marvel brand is one of the most recognizable on the planet today, and a lot of this is thanks to years of amazing comics and the unparalleled success of the MCU. Marvel has made errors along the way, but they have done so many things right on their path to the top.
Years back, Marvel made the wise decision to start making shows exclusively on Netflix, and this gave way to an incredible shared universe that was filled with some of the most underrated characters in comics. These shows were awesome, but only one can be considered the best.
The folks at IMDb have spoken, and one Marvel series on Netflix stands tall above the rest.
The Marvel Shows On Netflix Were Successful
The Marvel brand has endured for years in the pages, and their time on the big and small screen has been an interesting ride for fans. Some projects have had some major issues, sure, but the brand has had more than their fair share of successes. Back in 2015, Marvel would being to air shows exclusively on Netflix, and it took no time at all for these shows to catch on with major audiences.
Partnering up with the streaming giant was a stroke of genius for Marvel, as was the use of characters that people were genuinely interested in seeing on the small screen. Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the Punisher were all about to get their moment to shine on the small screen, and seeing them paired together to form the Defenders was a moment that comic book fans had been waiting for.
Many of these characters had the chance to thrive on multiple seasons of their own shows, and the crossovers that took place helped add a layer of depth to the overall story. The heroes were outstanding, no doubt, but the villains were able to shine, as well. Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk was sublime, and David Tennant delivered as stellar performance as the villainous Kilgrave.
Many of these shows received exceptional reviews, and the two shows chasing the top spot were in a close race to the top.
