Miley Cyrus' fans have been begging for her to tour following the release of her eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation on March 10, 2023. The record went viral due to Flowers — the speculated breakup song about Liam Hemsworth — and after people realized a significant change in her vocal fry.

Unfortunately, the Hannah Montana alum said in a new interview that she had "no desire" to tour anymore. A lot of fans were disappointed, with one even suggesting a solution on Twitter.

"I'm sorry but @mileycyrus maybe it's time to do a Vegas residency," wrote @plasticdeadpetz. "No tour bus, staying in one place for a long time, dogs can come, gays can come, close enough to LA you can go home when you need to, the clothes won't need to be folded. Think about it bestie."

That sounds like a good alternative. However, Cyrus has some pretty good reasons for opting out of shows for now, including her recently reported "eye movement therapy" for emotional healing...

Was Miley Cyrus' Latest Album 'Endless Summer Vacation' A Success?

The singer's hit, Flowers made it to No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100. So it was a surprise that her album only debuted at No.3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. It was a rank lower than her 2021 album, Plastic Hearts. One of the magazine's writers, Stephen Daw explained that it was still a "resounding success."

"It's not the No. 1 debut that some of us (a.k.a. me) thought it would be, but these are the biggest first-week sales numbers Miley has seen in a decade (Bangerz was her last album to cross the 100k mark in its first week)," he said. "That's huge, especially for an artist like Miley who has been playing with her sound for the last decade, to see a resounding success this late into her career."

But Daw admitted that the success of Flowers doesn't make it Cyrus' "all-time signature song" as many presumed. "I think it has certainly joined the ranks of Eternally Iconic Miley Cyrus Singles™, but I'd be hard-pressed to give the title of "all-time signature song" to Flowers over songs like Party in the U.S.A. or Wrecking Ball," he stated.

He continued: "The pure campiness, catchiness and overblown emotion of those songs have kept them alive and well in the imaginations of Miley's fans for over a decade. While I think Flowers will become a staple song for the singer, I think she has already well-established her "signature" at this point."

Why Does Miley Cyrus Not Want To Tour Anymore?

The last time Cyrus went on tour was in 2014 for her album, Bangerz. In a new interview with British Vogue, she opened up about her realizations after that much different time in her career. "After the last [headline tour] I did, I kind of looked at it as more of a question," she said, before confessing, "And I can't."

She added that she no longer wants to just do things to please others. "Not only can't," she continued, "because can't is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else's pleasure or fulfillment other than my own?"

She went on to say that there's "no connection" and "no safety" in singing for "hundreds of thousands of people," which "isn't really the thing that I love." She concluded that "It's also not natural. It's so isolating because if you're in front of 100,000 people, then you are alone."

What Is Miley Cyrus' 'Eye Movement Therapy' Really About?

In the same interview, Cyrus said that she had been undergoing "eye movement therapy" for a year now and had been working with "amazing" healers as part of her counseling. "I did a lot of EMDR. It's so helpful," she told the publication. "Essentially, you delete the physical sensations associated with these painful memories. The EMDR really helped me."

EDMR or Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing is "a form of psychotherapy devised by Francine Shapiro in the 1980s that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories such as post-traumatic stress disorder," per Wikipedia.

Cyrus also shared that she is now "sober" and "only hangs out with gay men" as part of her new wellness routine. "So they come over, and we do a whole class based off of Nicki Minaj or we have a Britney [Spears] series," she said. "I have a MadonnaVogue series, which is doing the entire bow choreography with, like, our little weights."

When asked for fitness advice, she said: "I actually had this idea of doing kind of like a wellness comedy, which was me basically saying, 'I'm Miley Cyrus and I'm a pop star and I can't tell you what to eat or what supplements to take because I haven't seen your lab work.'" Now, that would give '80s-aerobics-Jane Fonda a run for her money.
